Saskatoon Goldfins Swim Club Celebrates Success and Camaraderie

In an inspiring display of talent and teamwork, the Saskatoon Goldfins Swim Club made waves at the 2026 Podfest held in North Battleford, SK, on January 24, 2026. The event united 53 enthusiastic Goldfins swimmers, who showcased their skills by competing in a total of 289 individual events. This marks a chapter in their competitive journey.

The Goldfins Swim Club, renowned for its supportive and fun competitive environment, celebrated over 130 personal best times during the meet. This remarkable achievement underscores the swimmers' dedication and the club’s commitment to fostering growth. Among the standout performers, Kassia Gartner, Aoife Gibbons, Kyle MacGillivray, Chloey Sun, and Grace Zhang each achieved 100% personal best times, reflecting their hard work and consistent improvement.

Highlighting the top three most improved events, Zoey Painchaud made an exceptional 16.9% improvement in the 400M Freestyle with a time reduction of 84.77 seconds. Aoife Gibbons followed closely with a 15.6% improvement in the 50M Freestyle, cutting 8.45 seconds off her time. Ty Fehr showcased his prowess with a 15.3% improvement in the 50M Backstroke, reducing his time by 8.62 seconds.

The competition also witnessed the achievement of six new Provincial Short Course Time Standards by Goldfins swimmers. Maddi Sanz demonstrated her versatility by achieving Swim Saskatchewan AA Qualifying Time Standards in both the 50 Backstroke and 200 Individual Medley. Maddi added a new Swim Saskatchewan A Qualifying Time Standards in the 200 Freestyle. Meanwhile, Hudson St. Amant achieved the same standards in the 400 Freestyle, 200 Individual Medley, and 100 Fly.

 

 

Beyond the pool, the Goldfins swimmers nurtured their team spirit and camaraderie with a delightful team luncheon at Boston Pizza. Laughter and delicious food filled the air, creating cherished memories that strengthen the bond among teammates.

As the Goldfins express their gratitude to the Battleford Orcas Swim Club for hosting such an exhilarating competition, they eagerly look ahead to their own events. The team is busy preparing to host the 2026 Goldfins Winter Whiteout and the 2026 Goldfins Pentathlon swim meets at the Shaw Centre in Saskatoon, SK, from February 6 to 8, 2026. With an eye on the upcoming Winter Championship season, the Goldfins are poised to continue their journey of excellence, supported by their vibrant community.
