Saskatoon Goldfins' Journey to Podfest 2026

In a highly anticipated event, the Saskatoon Goldfins Swim Club is set to travel northwest to compete in Podfest 2026, hosted by the Battlefords Kinsmen Swim Club. This exciting short course competition will bring together swimmers from five clubs, promising a thrilling day of races.

The Goldfins, led by Head Coach Steven Hitchings, are enthusiastic about participating in this meet. Coach Hitchings expressed, “The Goldfins are looking forward to a fun and fast one-day swim meet in North Battleford. With 15 of our senior swimmers attending in a mentorship role, this is truly a team-building event. North Battleford has a great little pool, and the Goldfins are happy to be supporting this meet.”

Podfest 2026 is scheduled for Saturday, January 24, 2026, with two sessions of competitive swimming. The first session will commence with the Goldfins' arrival at 7:30 AM, featuring events such as the 400M Freestyle, 100M Backstroke, 50M Fly, 100M Breaststroke, and 50M Backstroke. The second session, beginning with arrival at 1:40 PM, will include the 200M Individual Medley, 100M Freestyle, 50M Breaststroke, 100M Fly, 50M Freestyle, and 200M Freestyle.

A diverse group of 53 Goldfins swimmers, ranging from ages 7 to 17, will represent their club. The Goldfins Swim Club will be represented by: Ethan Andre, Carlin Armstrong, Everly Bartlett, Harper Bear, Allie Berscheid, Cori Biberdorf, Kasey Biberdorf, McKinley Bowman, Kendrick Brewster, Isabel Burkholder, Carsyn Busa, James DeLathouwer, Luka Fehr, Tylan Fehr, Noah Findlay, Bronwen Friggstad, Kassia Gartner, Leo Genest,  Aoife Gibbons, Nicole Godbout, Summer Grajo, Olive Gregoire, Ava Gursky, Tycho Hall, Everly Haver, Scarlett Highway, Sara Horvath, Avery Houle, Claire Huber, Ivy Kellett, Jackson LaBine, Jasper Ledingham-Off, Piper Lejbak, Zoe Liakopoulos, Kyle MacGillivray, Rosalie Madziar, Isabel Magus, Avyn Munshaw, Zoey Painchaud, Rhett Ruzesky, Maddi Sanz, Mathhew Skliar, Hudson St. Amant, Karley St. Amant, Chloey Sun, Abigail Takagi, Aruke Uzbekova, Naomi Wall, Mariah Weber, Cici Xu, Hannah Yonkman, Grace Zhang, and Zoe Zimonick.   Each swimmer brings unique strengths and experiences, contributing to a dynamic and cohesive team.

 

 

The Goldfins Swim Club is grateful to the Battleford Orcas for hosting this competition and providing an excellent opportunity for swimmers to showcase their skills and foster camaraderie. As the winter championship season approaches, events like Podfest 2026 are instrumental in preparing athletes for the challenges ahead.
