Saskatoon Goldfins Dazzle at the 2025 Spring Podfest! 🌟
The Saskatoon Goldfins Swim Club recently demonstrated their prowess and dedication at the 2025 Spring Podfest held in North Battleford, SK, on March 15 and 16, 2025. The event saw the participation of 26 enthusiastic Goldfins swimmers who competed in an impressive 188 individual events and 11 relay events.
Celebrating Achievements
One of the highlights of the meet was Olivia Lovick's outstanding performance. Olivia achieved her first Swim Sask Junior Provincial A Time Standard by clocking a remarkable 50.49 seconds in the 50M Breaststroke. This achievement marks a significant milestone in her swimming career.
Personal Bests and Improvements
The Goldfins Swim Club celebrated over 125 personal best times during the competition. Notably, Leo Genest, Kyle MacGillivray, Elliotte Mah, and Danny Wang achieved 100% personal best times, showcasing their consistent improvement and dedication.
Top 3 Most Improved Events
- Everett Rempel - 100M Individual Medley: 32.8% Improvement with a time reduction of 39.43 seconds.
- Emery Bernier - 50M Fly: 23.9% Improvement with a decrease of 15.04 seconds.
- Addie Bartlett - 200M Freestyle: 18.0% Improvement with a time cut of 38.74 seconds.
New Time Standards
Six new Junior Provincial Short Course A Time Standards were achieved by Goldfins swimmers:
- Zeyah Flemming: 50 & 100 Backstroke
- Olivia Lovick: 50 Breaststroke
- Elliotte Mah: 50 Backstroke, 100 Breaststroke
- Dakota Wigness: 50 Fly
Looking Ahead
The Saskatoon Goldfins Swim Club extends their gratitude to the Battleford Orcas Swim Club for hosting such an exhilarating competition. The Goldfins are now gearing up for their next challenges at the Bridge City Spring Classic in Saskatoon, SK, from April 11 to 13, 2025, and the Canadian Open in Edmonton, AB, from April 10 to 12, 2025. The team is excited to continue their journey of excellence and aims to bring more accolades home.
