Recognition in the Pool: Saskatoon Goldfins Celebrate Emmett and Zeyah as May 2026 Swimmers of the Month

June 12, 2026

The Saskatoon Goldfins Swim Club is proud to announce the Swimmers of the Month program for 2026, celebrating athletes who show exceptional commitment, enthusiasm, and resilience. Each month, swimmers who embody these traits will be recognized. Excellence in swimming is not just about speed or wins but also perseverance, positivity, and team inspiration.

Swimmers of the Month are chosen for their pool performance, sportsmanship, leadership, and team spirit. They serve as role models, demonstrating that success in swimming combines skill, mindset, and teamwork.

This program highlights diverse talents and strengths, fostering a supportive community. It reflects the club's dedication to nurturing each swimmer's potential, valuing their journey as much as their achievements.

Zeyah Flemming (G1) - A massive congratulations goes out to Zeyah from G1 for earning the well-deserved title of Goldfins Swimmer of the Month!

Since the very beginning of the season, Zeyah has shown what it means to be a dedicated athlete. Day in and day out, she comes to the pool ready to work hard — and most importantly, she brings a positive attitude and love for the sport every single day. Her focus on improving her technique and sharpening her skills has led to tremendous growth and incredible success this season.

Zeyah’s recent competitions highlight her determination, resilience, and championship mindset:

  • Killarney Invitational (Calgary): Zeyah kicked off her season with an outstanding performance, earning a Bronze Medal in the 200M Backstroke.
  • Michelle Moore Meet: She showed incredible improvement by dropping a massive 5 seconds from her time. Even after narrowly missing the podium, she stayed motivated and continued pushing forward.
  • CSI Meet (Calgary): Zeyah bounced back like a true champion, digging deep to capture the Gold Medal in the demanding 800M Freestyle.

“Zeyah has been persistent, hard-working, has a great attitude, and has truly earned the honour of being Swimmer of the Month.  Your persistence, work ethic, and positive attitude are inspiring. Congratulations Zeyah!"

Emmett Dyck (W2) - I am thrilled to see Emmett Dyck awarded with swimmer of the month! He has had an exceptional season of growth which I am proud to look back on. I began coaching Emmett in W2 at the end of last season, he had the difficult task of jumping into one of the most challenging practices we would complete that year - but was adamant in wanting to take on the challenge! That behaviour has continued to show throughout this season in addition to Emmett taking on a lane leader role while encouraging his teammates with their own participation in the sport and the group.
I hope he continues to have success in the final few racing opportunities we have before the end of the season, congrats again Emmett!
