J.P. Fiset Invitational Returns to the Kinsmen Aquatic Centre

As the crisp December air envelops Edmonton, the Kinsmen Aquatic Centre is set to host a splash-tacular event from December 11 to 14, 2025: the J.P. Fiset Invitational. This prestigious swim meet, a tribute to the unwavering dedication of J.P. Fiset, a cherished OSC volunteer, promises to be a thrilling arena of aquatic skill and sportsmanship.
Coach Steven Hitchings of the Saskatoon Goldfins is buzzing with excitement as he prepares to lead 21 of his finest swimmers into one of Alberta's most competitive meets. Reflecting on the challenge ahead, Hitchings shared, “Excited to take 21 Goldfins to race in one of the top meets in Alberta. JP Fiset draws top talent from Alberta, BC, and Saskatchewan. With over 500 swimmers, the meet provides a depth of field above and beyond what our swimmers face at local meets. Putting an extra emphasis on executing the race plans and swimming at your best in the mornings.”
The meet will kick off with the 800M and 1500M Freestyle events, along with the 4 X 200M Freestyle Relays on Thursday, December 11 - 4:00 PM.
As the weekend unfolds, swimmers will tackle the following schedule:
Friday, December 12, 2025 - Prelims: 8:30 AM & Finals: 5:00 PM
Events: 200M Freestyle, 50M Fly, 100M Backstroke, 50M Breaststroke, 400M Individual Medley, 4 X 100M Medley Relays
Saturday, December 13, 2025 - Prelims: 8:30 AM & Finals: 5:00 PM
Events: 200M Backstroke, 100M Freestyle, 200M Breaststroke, 100M Fly, 400M Freestyle, 4 X 100M Freestyle Relays
Sunday, December 14, 2025 - Prelims: 8:30 AM & Finals: 4:00 PM
Events: 200M Fly, 50M Backstroke, 100M Breaststroke, 50M Freestyle, 200M Individual Medley, 4 X 50M Medley Relays

Each swimmer has been diligently preparing, ready to showcase their prowess and determination.
