Goldfins Will Have Home Advantage at the 2024 Lasers Invitational
The Saskatoon Goldfins Swim Club is preparing to compete in their home pool May 31 – June 2, 2024, at the Saskatoon Lasers Invitational swim meet. The Shaw Centre will be a packed house as the Goldfins Swim Club will be represented by 100 swimmers.
This meet allows swimmers to compete in several events that they have not had the opportunity to race in until this point in the season. The Lasers have created a unique meet program allowing all levels of swimmers to challenge themselves in the events offered.
“This swim meet will allow our youngest Goldfins swimmers to compete together, alongside our varsity swimmers who have returned to the Goldfins Swim Club to train and to compete this summer. Goldfins swimmers ranging from 8 – 21 years will be standing together on deck,” says Jennifer Robinson, Head Development Coach. “This season, we have had numerous meets that have separated our Club into a variety of competitive opportunities. This swim meet will be an opportunity to cheer each other on throughout the weekend.”
The Lasers Invitational Meet’s schedule is as follows:
Friday, May 31, 2024 – Swimmer Arrival – 4:00 PM & Competition: 5:40 PM
Events: 100M Backstroke, 400M Individual Medley, 800M Freestyle
Saturday, June 1, 2024 – Swimmer Arrival – 7:30 AM & Competition: 9:10 AM
Events: 50M Breaststroke, 200M Freestyle, 100M Fly, 200M Backstroke, 200M Breaststroke
Saturday, June 1, 2024 – Swimmer Arrival: 4:10 PM & Competition: 5:40 PM
Events: 400M Freestyle, 100M Breaststroke, 50M Backstroke, 200M Individual Medley
Sunday, June 2, 2024 – Swimmer Arrival: 7:40 AM & Competition: 9:10 AM
Events: 200M Fly, 100M Freestyle, 50M Fly, 50M Freestyle
