Goldfins Swimmers Ready for Regina Showdown
The Saskatoon Goldfins High School swimmers are gearing up for an exciting weekend as they travel to Regina, Saskatchewan, to compete in the Cougars/Bisons Dual Meet #1 on October 11 and 12, 2025. This event marks the beginning of a series of dual meets that will see the University of Regina Cougars Swim Team face off against the University of Manitoba Bisons Swim Team. The meet will also welcome high school swimmers from across Saskatchewan, creating a vibrant and competitive atmosphere.
Head Coach Steven Hitchings expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming event, noting, “This weekend, the Goldfins will take a contingent of swimmers aged 14 and older to race in Regina. The Western Canadian university teams frequently come together for dual meets, and this week, the Cougars and Bisons are dueling in Regina, with an invitation extended to younger swimmers. It’s a fantastic opportunity for our athletes to experience university-level swimming, test their early season skills, and gain visibility with university coaches. While racing against older, university-aged swimmers can be daunting, I am confident that the Goldfins will hold their own.”
The competition is structured as a Timed Final, with a carefully curated schedule designed to challenge swimmers across a range of events. The schedule is as follows:
