Goldfins at the 2024 Saskatchewan Summer Games
The Saskatoon Goldfins Swim Club will be well represented at the 2024 Saskatchewan Summer Games – Lloydminster, SK – July 21 – 27, 2024. There will be 27 Goldfins swimmers competing in the Swimming event and there will be 4 Goldfins swimmers competing in the Triathlon event.
"This presents a fantastic opportunity for our swimmers to engage in a Multi-Sport Games competition format," mentioned Jennifer Robinson, who will serve as the Head Coach for the Saskatoon District swim team. "It's truly exciting to see many of our Goldfins swimmers chosen to participate in this distinctive event. They will absorb the vibrant atmosphere that a multi-sport games setting provides."
Robinson emphasized the significance of the Goldfins swimmers gaining exposure to the Games experience. "For those Goldfins swimmers aiming for selection in the 2025 Canada Games, these Games will provide valuable insights into the preparation, competition format, and the excitement that comes with a Games experience."
In addition to the Goldfins athletes selected to compete at the Sask Summer Games, the Goldfins will also be represented by a team of coaches and support staff:
- Ted Murphy will be the Head Coach for the Lakeland and Parkland Valley Districts.
- Rhett Smith and Mateya Olszynski will serve as Assistant Coaches for the Saskatoon District.
- Drew Findlay and Terri Weber will act as Team Managers for the Saskatoon District and the Lakeland/Parkland Valley Districts, respectively.
Furthermore, the Saskatoon Goldfins Swim Club will have several parents of Goldfins athletes volunteering as officials at the Games.
The Goldfins is pleased to have 4 female swimmers participate in the Triathlon event being held during the Games – July 24 – 27, 2024. Lan Nguyen, Kasey Biberdorf, Ivy Kellett and Monica Lin will be competing in three Triathlon events at these Games.
