Craven SPORT Services Racing Series #3 Post Meet Report
The Saskatoon Goldfins Swim Club hosted the third Craven SPORT Services Racing Series on Saturday, March 16, 2024 – Shaw Centre – Saskatoon, SK. The Club was pleased to host 147 swimmers competing in 17 events. The Goldfins welcomed swimmers and coaches from three (3) northern Saskatchewan swim clubs; Battleford Orcas, Meadow Lake Manta Rays, and the Saskatoon Lasers Swim Club.
This racing series was conceptualized to ensure the Saskatchewan swimmers are given an opportunity to compete in a singular session designed to offer events presented in an age group format.
"The Craven Sport Services Racing Series has created a wonderful opportunity to introduce a competitive swimming format that enables aspiring swimmers to participate in a supportive and nurturing environment," remarked Jennifer Robinson, the Head Development Coach at Goldfins. "This event marks the third meet in a series of four swim meets, and once again, it has proven to be a delightful morning of friendly competition."
“Apart from the valuable racing experience gained by swimmers in specific age group events, the Club utilizes this competition to offer guidance to swim officials who are beginning their officiating journey. Parents and volunteers who have completed officiating courses play crucial roles in this process, as they work towards their final evaluation. Officiating certification is essential to ensure that Swim Clubs can continue hosting swim meets for the ongoing development of our swimmers."
