Record-Breaking Performances Highlight 2025 CSI Singapore Sling

June 5, 2025

The Goldfins Swim Club made a splash at the 2025 CSI Singapore Sling swim meet held from May 29 to June 1 in Calgary, AB. The weekend was packed with thrilling races and camaraderie among teammates, culminating in record-breaking performances and numerous personal bests.

Record-Breaking Performances by Naomi Liu

One of the standout achievements was by Naomi Liu, who set a new Goldfins 11–12 Long Course Club Record in the 100M Breaststroke with an impressive time of 1:20.24. This shattered the previous record of 1:21.73, held by Ana Penner since February 2018. Liu also played a vital role in the Goldfins Girls 11–12 Freestyle Relay team, along with Monica Lin, Aliyah Aubut, and Sidney Goodwin. Together, they set a new relay record with a time of 2:03.50, breaking the previous record established in July 2011.

Grand Prix Qualifiers

Naomi Liu and Phillip Shorte both achieved their first Grand Prix du Quebec qualifying time standards. Liu qualified in the 100M Breaststroke, and Shorte qualified in the 200M Breaststroke with a time of 2:48.30. These accomplishments have earned them the opportunity to compete in Montreal, QUE, in July 2025.
