It's Going to Be Hot at the 2025 Saskatchewan Junior Provincial Championships

The Saskatoon Goldfins Swim Club is gearing up for an exciting showcase at the 2025 Saskatchewan Junior Provincial Championships, set to take place from February 28 to March 2, 2025, in Moose Jaw, SK. With 50 Goldfins swimmers competing in 384 individual events and 34 Goldfins relays, the competition will surely heat up the indoor arena.

Competitors and Events

This open short course swim meet welcomes female swimmers aged 11 and over and male swimmers aged 12 and over, provided they meet the Saskatchewan Junior Provincial qualifying time standards. However, younger athletes—females aged 7-10 and males aged 7-11—are also encouraged to participate without the need for a qualifying time.

Championship Schedule

Session 1 - Friday, February 28, 2025

  • Swimmer Arrival: 3:00 PM
  • Competition Starts: 4:40 PM
  • Events: 100M Freestyle, 200M Individual Medley, 200M Butterfly, 50M Backstroke, 800M Freestyle (M), 4 X 50M Freestyle Relay

Session 2 - Saturday, March 1, 2025

  • Swimmer Arrival: 7:30 AM
  • Competition Starts: 9:10 AM
  • Events: 4 X 50M Mixed Freestyle Relay, 100M Backstroke, 50M Breaststroke, 100M Fly, 400M Freestyle

Session 3 - Saturday, March 1, 2025

  • Swimmer Arrival: 3:10 PM
  • Competition Starts: 4:40 PM
  • Events: 200M Backstroke, 50M Freestyle, 200M Breaststroke, 800M Freestyle (W), 4 X 50M Medley Relay

Session 4 - Sunday, March 2, 2025

  • Swimmer Arrival: 7:40 AM
  • Competition Starts: 9:10 AM
  • Events: 4 X 50M Mixed Medley Relay, 100M Breaststroke, 200M Freestyle, 50M Fly, 400M Individual Medley

 

 

Goldfins' Legacy and Future

"The Goldfins Swim Club has enjoyed a successful historical presence at this swim meet," said Jennifer Robinson, Head Development Coach of the Saskatoon Goldfins Swim Club. "The Club has proudly taken home the Saskatchewan Junior Provincial Championships Large Club Award over the past 15 years."

Robinson is particularly enthusiastic about the development and success of the club's youngest swimmers. "Igniting the spark in our youngest Goldfins swimmers is key to building a successful competitive swim team. Goldfins swimmers will be racing to the podium as they continue to improve their competitive swimming skills."
