2024 Saskatchewan Summer Games Recap
Team Saskatoon had a remarkable performance at the 2024 Lloydminster Saskatchewan Summer Games held from July 21 to 24, 2024. The swim team, consisting of 29 swimmers and supported by 5 coaches, proudly represented Team Saskatoon. They achieved an impressive total of 922 points, thanks to exceptional performances from both individual swimmers and relay teams. Saskatoon swimmers from three local swim clubs competed in the Prairie Central Sport District, securing 4th place with 213 points, and in the Lakeland Sport District, earning 5th place with 150 points.
Jennifer Robinson, the Head Coach of Team Saskatoon’s swim team, expressed her excitement, saying, “Witnessing all our team members sprinting towards the podium was truly thrilling.” The team displayed great strength during 129 finals, a significant achievement considering the fierce competition from Regina and South West districts.
Three swimmers from the Saskatoon area set individual swim meet records dating back to 2004:
· Carson Sereda-Wosminity posted a time of 1:06.51, breaking the 100M Backstroke record that dated back to 2004
· Rowyn Petersen set a new 50M Backstroke record – 33.11, breaking the previous record set in 2016
· Aidan Links will now hold the record title for the 50M Backstroke – 30.83. This record had been previously set in 2016.
· Landon Kennedy broke the 50M Fly swim meet record, a record dating back to 2016, posting a time of 29.47
Thirteen swimmers from Team Saskatoon and swimmers from the surrounding area of Saskatoon achieved results that surpassed the previous swim meet records.

Team Saskatoon’s Female 200M Medley Relay broke a relay meet record with a time of 2:13.01, surpassing the previous record set in 2016.
Team Saskatoon’s relay teams that outperformed existing records:

· Male 400M Freestyle Relay – 3:56.03 (2008)
Robinson took a moment to appreciate the notable presence of Saskatoon swimmers at the Games. She expressed immense pride for the participants representing local swim clubs such as Saskatoon Goldfins Swim Club, Saskatoon Lasers Swim Club, and Saskatoon Sharks Swim Club. The impressive accumulation of Flag points by Saskatoon swimmers for their sport district totals was inspiring. The backing provided by their coaching and management teams during the Games played a crucial role in ensuring a successful and rewarding experience for all involved.
